Video: One Paseo Traffic Problems

An excellent video on the impact of One Paseo on the local area. It's only a minute long, just watch! The video was created by a local resident who just happens to run a video production and post-production company (www.SDMovie.com). Thanks, Michael!

One Paseo development, don't ruin my neighboorhood

Dear Kilroy

At first blush, creating a main street in Carmel Valley has some appeal.  However, the plans as shared by your company miss that mark.  If I wanted to move to some area like UTC, I would do that.  I don't want it to move to my neighborhood. When I think of what I would like in a main sreet. some of the elements certainly are their- a pedestrian promenade, some additional small restaurants.  But "main street" carmel valley does NOT required the mega hotel, office spaces etc envisioned.  Also the ideal of a pedestrian main street is not congruent with the traffic impact the development would necessitate.  Finally, it is really either cynical or disingenous to portray a "main street" under the shadow of of the massive buildings in the center, most of which are out of scale with the rest of the neighborhood.  Reduce this thing by 75% and I think it could work.  As is, your main street appeal is really just a cover for a massive corporate development that would not serve the neighborhood.

Respectfully yours,

Margaret Bradbury
